International Women’s Day, Rajasthan Royals Salutes the Day by unveiling the all-pink jersey under its all-pink initiative, the 'Pink Promise' which is claiming to support women-led transformation in Rajasthan.
The said jersey will be worn during the Pink Promise match between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians on May 1, 2025, at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. The 'Pink Promise' campaign wants to commit itself to women empowerment in Rajasthan and influence cricket.
Royal Rajasthan Foundation, the CSR arm of Rajasthan Royals, has also launched a powerful #PinkPromise campaign film titled "Aurat Hai Toh Bharat Hai." Last year, this initiative helped provide solar power to over 250 homes, and through these installation efforts, thousands of lives will be illuminated.
Pride for making a difference is what a person would feel like Kumar Sangakkara, Director of Cricket at Rajasthan Royals, said while introducing it. Impact - individual, family, and society would all feel the change. It is very important, as said by Sangakkara; it should also have taught the values and standards of the team on how to run these functions.
The CEO of Rajasthan Royals, Jake Lush McCrum, said 'Pink Promise' makes the foundation move beyond the geography of the foundation reaching the communities and able to drive a transformational agenda to rural transformation. For the match this year when RR vs. MI is played, every ticket will add Rs 100 to the cause in support of women-led rural development in Rajasthan. From the sales of the special pink jersey, proceeds will also be directly attributed to RRF.
On top of this, Rajasthan Royals and RRF pledge a further contribution of solar energy access to rural households for every six. Every six by one of the teams will thereby ensure real-time contributions to rural energy access.
